• Youth are eight times less likely to use if their parents talk to them about the issue and set and enforce clear and consistent rules about alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
• As many as eighty-seven percent of youth report non use if they are involved in a faith based community.
• Youth are far less likely to use if they consistently receive anti-drug messages through the home, school and community.
• Youth are far less likely to use if they are involved in school sports. Impact is less on alcohol than on other drugs.
